Upload a clear photo and Nookly will match their features — skin tone, hair, and more — to generate a personalized illustrated character.
For the best results, make sure your photo has:
✅ Face clearly visible
✅ Good lighting
✅ No filters
Alongside the photo, you'll fill in a few quick essentials:
First name
Age range
Ethnicity
Pronouns
Once uploaded, a preview of the child's portrait will appear on the right side of the screen before you continue.
🎨 Option 2: Describe their look
Prefer not to upload a photo? No problem. This option lets you build your child's character through a simple form.
You'll be able to customize:
Skin Tone
Hair Style
Final Touches & Details
Just like the photo option, you'll also enter their name, age range, ethnicity, and pronouns. As you build the profile, a portrait preview will generate in real time on the right.
💡 You can switch between "Use a photo instead" and "Use form instead" at any time using the link at the bottom of the form.

If you've already created child profiles before, you'll find a gallery of all your saved kiddos to select one of them directly.
