Choose Viewer or Editor access when sharing

Choose the sharing role that matches what a trusted recipient should be able to do with an eligible creation.

Written by Radwa Hamed

Viewer and Editor roles control what an email recipient can do with an eligible shared creation. Choose the least access needed for the collaboration.

Viewer access

Use Viewer when the recipient needs to open and use the experience but should not change it.

Editor access

Use Editor only for a trusted family member, educator, therapist, or collaborator who should be able to use the editing controls available for that format.

Step 1: Open Share

Find the finished experience in Nook and select the Share action.

Open the Share options

Step 2: Enter the recipient email

Use the exact address the recipient will use to sign in.

Step 3: Open the access selector

Select the current role next to the recipient or invitation field.

Step 4: Choose Viewer or Editor

Choose Viewer for use-only access. Choose Editor only when edits are intended and supported.

Step 5: Review and send

Confirm the recipient, role, experience, and visible child details before sending.

Review the invitation and access level

Good to know

  • Role availability can vary by content type and account.

  • Editor access does not guarantee that every format has the same editing controls.

  • Change or remove access later from the live sharing controls when available.

PS Getting edit access to a child profile automatically provides access to their content
